PHP Version Manager
The PHP version change plugin is available for all cPanel users under the 1H Software section in cPanel. It allows users to easily choose between 6 different PHP versions that are shipped with 1H HIVE. Through the plugin interface cPanel users can set a different PHP version not only per a separate hosting account, but also within each directory or sub-directory of that hosting account with just a single click.
The plugin is automatically installed with 1H HIVE installation.
NB: If you had Hive installed prior to this plugin being released (before June 2011) you will not have it installed for your machine. The alternatives are to download the latest 1h installer script from:
Then run the hive installation again. This will install the missing plugins only. Here are all commands you can run in order to accomplish the installation:
wget http://sw.1h.com/1h_install.sh chmod +x 1h_install.sh ./1h_install.sh hive
Alternatively you can manually install this plugin only following the instructions below.
Existing 1H clients who already use 1H HIVE should install the plugin manually as it is not automatically added upon 1H software updates. To install the plugin manually run the following command:
yum install --disableexcludes=main php-version-for-cpanel
The plugin shows a directory listing for the respective account and shows which PHP version is currently in use for each directory. The folders that use a different from the default PHP version on the server display the specific PHP version in brackets right next to the folder name. The folders with no PHP version information use the default PHP version for the server.
To change the PHP version for a specific folder or sub-folder, just navigate to the respective folder click on it. After that click on the radio button with the PHP version you would like to change for the chosen directory.
